Hello there,

is there a way to start multiple Server Instances on a single Windows Server 2016 Root Server?

Greetings

Sure there is... More than one, but I would strogly advice against it. Because than the HW resources will be split against your instances withch means that instead of 50-60 people on the server you will get 2-3 people per instance... Make it sense, please?

I just want to start a second Server. The Hardware ressources are more then enough.

So how to set it up?

Well, you don't... But if you really need to figure it out the hard way, here is one of the ways how to do it... And probably the simplest one...

First install your hypervisor. THe microsoft recommends Hyper-V

Than configure it to spin up the desired number of VM's and install Windows on it and the DCS server of course...

Probably the best way would be to create single VM and than clone, assuming you want to run same version of the DCS on all of them...

Here is good set of articles how to handle the Hyper-V

Oki nice approach, by shortcommings are that if one of the servers crashes or freezes, both will be affected and basicall dies...

Also based on the screenshots he limits the users to 16 per server, so as I mentioned, slicing the server by any method will result in limitations how many users can be on at the same time... Do not expect to have like 50-60 players on any of them by any chance...
