Hey guys just a quick question,I'm running 1.12b and the latest version of modman(6.3.0.1) and I'm just wondering about the little box above the install mod button, the " when possible, always install textures in CDDS files"

I.v played with it and it says that all bugs have been fixed in relation to this button, but i'v tried to install a few mods (like the cool ADA mirage mod) they havn't worked at all( like no cockpit in the mirages :( ) and a few of the cockpit mods and they don't always work.has this button anything to do with it or is it something else i havnt done right.

Cheers for any help

Textures in LockOn may be saved :

- in Bazar/TempTextures/, without compression (therefore, big files, high hardware load)

- in a CDDS (compressed DDS) in Bazar/World/ (lighter files, better performance)

The purpose of the "when possible, always install textures in CDDS files" function of ModMan is to ask ModMan to compress (in the default CDDS) the textures of the mods you want to install.

- Function activated : ModMan will compress & place a texture.bmp file in a CDDS file.

- Function no activated : ModMan will place a texture.bmp file in Bazar/TempTextures/

------------------------

That what general remarks, now for your particular issue :

I don't think the problem is related to the function described above.

Some mods (the AdA mod is one of them) come with their "own" CDDS files (big collection of textures). As those CDDS are "new" (not default ones), you must "declare" them in order to allow LockOn to use the texture they contains. If not done, you'll have "white" plane and/or "black" cockpits.

"Declaring" the new CDDS is done in the Config/Graphic.cfg file.

The AdA mod and/or ModMan do this step automatically if you respect the instructions below :

- with ModMan v6.0.0.13 (bкta) or lower (v5.x), use AdA mod v1.00

- with ModMan 6.2.0.0 or higher (your case), use AdA mod v1.01

If you can't solve your issue automatically, you may want to use the workaround described in the first item of the AdA mod FAQ => http://www.ada-mod.org/adamod/forum/viewtopic.php?id=339

Hope it helps :book:

Cheers
