Xanax914 Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 Long story short, depending on the target jet, the F-18's TWS is causing the target's RWR to provide missile launch indications immediately after the shooting aircraft launched. This was tested with the F-15, F-16, and F-18 as targets. The target F-16 and F-18's RWRs demonstrated this issue. For the F-15 as the target, TWS was working as expected, providing only nails indications until the missile went active. Other aircraft were not tested as targets. CypherS Posted May 23, 2020 Posted May 23, 2020 The Hornet's RWR recognizing TWS launches as STT has been an issue since the module came out. (It sure does make things easier given that the RWR gives very little information) But, this has been reported I think, it seems that when they added the guidance fix to TWS launches this started happening.
