VAICOMPRO.exe won't start or restart VA

I updated to the 2.5.20.0 version today. Opening the VAICOMPRO app, either through the original exe or a desktop shortcut, won't start VA or restart it if I close VA myself.

It starts, the taskbar notification icon is initially normal and hovering the mouse says "VAICOM PRO is active". After a few seconds, it gets grayed out and says "check VA status". Selecting Restart from the right click menu does nothing.

If I manually start VA, then the icon becomes normal again and double clicking it starts the VAICOM configurator. If VA shuts down, it reverts to the inactive state.

I have set both VA and the VAICOMPRO app to run with Admin rights. The VAICOMPRO.dll and the VAICOMPRO.exe are in the VAICOMPRO install folder, in VoiceAttack\Apps\VAICOMPRO\.

Well that's interesting. Not reproducible and not reported elsewhere else either.

Assuming there's nothing special about the path of your install and your Windows account has folder R/W access.

Suggest to try add an antivirus exception.
