DUSTY Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 My little homage to pitching deck ops, naval aviation and the documentary makers that captured it so well. BMGZ06 Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 What were you weather settings? I did a mission like this and had to chuck 60kt winds and 10kt boat to get the pitch and roll. That made it almost impossible to get to the ship and stay on AOA trying to fly at 200kts while the wind was just pushing me back and up like crazy. System Specs: 13900K, Strix Z790 Gaming E, MSI 4090 Sprim Liquid X OC'd, 64gb Gskill Trident Z DDR5, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 SSD,. Winwing throttle, Winwing panels/MIPs and VKB GF3/MCGU stick, MFG Crosswind V2, HP REVERB G2.
DUSTY Posted June 5, 2020 Author Posted June 5, 2020 I've played with a few scenarios but currently the sweet spot is to have the ship sailing at between 5-10knots into a 35-50knot headwind. Turb set to somewhere around 20 but I forget exactly. I'll check and report back. Obviously that's not ideal WOD but it gets her pitching and rolling and it's not impossible to fly an _OK_ pass. It's certainly challenging but not impossible!
