topol-m Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 "Nord 510 Mentioned here for completeness, the Nord 510 was an unmanned shrouded propeller observation and reconnaissance system designed under the French army program Orphée (“Orpheus”). The platform was tethered and tension was maintained by a cable winch mounted on a truck – this regulated altitude and provided the stability. Service ceiling was 300 m (1,000 ft). The power plant was a Turboméca Astazou turboshaft with 390 kW (523 hp). Empty weight was 450 kg (990 lb). Three prototypes were built at Nord’s Châtillon plant, and were tested by SNECMA at Melum- Villaroche between 1966 and 1968." There you go. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

There you go. seems the program didn't even see the observation system developed ? i made you searched a bit , got my revenge :P SU-25 missions [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
topol-m Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 ^^^ :D Apparently the program didn`t go beyond the experimental phase. Probably that`s why the info about it is so scarce. And that also brought the success of the question ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
topol-m Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 First clue - it`s a trainer aircraft. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
zakobi Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 The engine nozzle makes me believe it is of older design.
topol-m Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Actually it`s not that old ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
zakobi Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Can't be that big, considering the small nozzle... eastern or western design? Really wanna guess this, as i got a really good one :D
topol-m Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Can't be that big, considering the small nozzle... eastern or western design? Really wanna guess this, as i got a really good one :D Hmm I`m not telling if it`s eastern or western. But I`ll give you another clue, it uses a General Electric engine. Javelin AJT? Single engine version? No, it`s not Javelin AJT. And yes, it`s a single engine aircraft. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
zakobi Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 GE engine? That only makes it very unlikely to be of russian design... Maybe south american?
topol-m Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Specific planes` names required :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
jpm1 Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 so it's south american topol with such enigmas i would be scared for my rep myself  SU-25 missions [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
topol-m Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Ok last clues. Not that much more can be said for a trainer aircraft. It`s a subsonic trainer aircraft. Not in serial production (at least i couldn`t find any info stating the opposite). First flight somewhere in the 1994-2009 interval :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
jpm1 Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Shafaq maybe , i say maybe cause i couldn't manage to find rear pics of the bird SU-25 missions [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

For a compensation, of the next one more than 1 have been built :D I`m sure you`ll find it really fast. Edited November 26, 2009 by topol-m [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
