  1. Greetings, A few questions to ask. This may seem like a necro but this is the "official" thread for the mission. 1) Any specific issues related to this being a 2.5 mission that may make it malfunction in 2.7 and beyond? 2) How to add the AH64? I am not at all familiar with the DCS mission maker beyond simple unit placement for my simple missions. 3) Is there another mission of the same nature that has taken over for FARP Hollywood?
  2. Hi SV and thanks for the insight. Yes, I have pondered Gremlin. Do you know of a good repository of knowledge for the software that a non programmer can tap into? The lack of novice instruction has been the greatest obstacle to giving it a real try.
  3. So, we no longer have the CH Hangar to go bug Bob Church about how to program our CH products sticks. Maybe someone here either knows where the refugees have gone or perhaps can even give some advice on how to accomplish something. CH Products do not have dual stage triggers but the scripting capability should allow for something akin to it. My idea is simply this... Press and hold JS1.B1 is stage 1 (think click and hold) Click and hold JS1.B1 is stage 2 (think click-click and hold) Each of these could then be passed as CMS.B1 and CMS.B2 as their respective staged trigger commands. I've been playing with timers and waits and whiles and not having any luck.
  4. OK, here's the sitrep. Self made fiddling mission to get better using JTAC. JTAC calls a target out, a bunker that is also somewhat surrounded by parked vehicles. LSS to spot, when target is acquired, it is not uncommon to have it be one of the vehicles nearby rather than the bunker that was called for in the 9 line. Laser guided weapons always kill something, just not always the target anticipated. I am using JTAC lasing, not my own. Yes, I am calling for laser on. I have even ditched the targeting pod all together and same thing, something close gets boomed. Typical in high density situations? If I have one lonely target, this is never an issue. Update.... The JTAC module syncs with the checkpoint module which has a center that is NOT the bunker. The hits are on vehicles that are parked very close to the object icon.
  5. ... Which, sadly, is exactly what I do not want to do. I'd simply like to swap buttons on the Touch controls, but that seems to be an impossibility. It makes so much sense to have the zoom function be bound to the left hand controller. LUA maybe?
  6. Wow! Am I totally missing the boat on something here or is there no workaround?
  7. There is an oddity with the Oculus touch controllers that the VR zoom button is mapped to the right hand and the menu to the left. This seems odd to me as it would make more sense to have them reversed so that a player could maintain stick control with the right hand and use the touch control with the left hand to zoom and punch buttons. My searches come up empty on flipping the controls from hand to hand so I am hoping somebody can offer up a link to an appropriate thread. Thanks in advance.
  8. I am not a fan of using the touch controllers with DCS as all I ever do is bang them on on my desk. What I would like to know is if there is a keybind that can be used to mimic the zoom of the touch controller (hold-zoom) so that I can get the up close view of MFD's and such. Something that I can bind to a convenient mouse button as I do use mouse for button mashing. To my knowledge there is no zoom key we can use in VR as none of the usual ones work. VR disables much of the keybound view system from what I can tell.
  9. Ive hit as many threads as i can handle before screaming.... i just want to know that changing a video card only will not necessitate deactivation, then put in card, then reactivation of all my addons.
  10. Sorry for digging up an old thread but this one seems appropriate for the question.... The ONLY thing that beats up my frame rate is the use of CBU's. I recall there being some particle tweak that helped. To be sure, it's probably all the smoke generated by the dozens of submunition explosions.... but how to mediate the effect? Thanks in advance.
  11. Made... I was hoping to save myself the 5 minutes it took. Not the greatest because the northern boundary is a little non nondescript but the KMZ will suffice for sight seeing purposes. Anyone have a suggestion for free web storage? I'd post it up for public use but have no place to put it on the web. Lots to pick from, who's is the best that anyone has found to be as painless as possible to utilize. And need is relative... We don't need to play games but here we are playing them anyways. I just wanted a tool to use within Google Earth to simplify my search for the nastiest terrain possible. I find it entertaining to stick a well guarded target in a sheltered valley and then try to blow it up. Running the gauntlet, as it were. What worked in Falcon 4.0?
  12. Anybody have a KMZ for Google Earth that covers the theater of operations for DCS A-10C? That would make scouting terrain much easier.
  13. Looking for a really steep sided box canyon or a blind valley (no entrance or exit except over the top on all approaches. Something that would require significant work to put weapons on target if something were placed in it. I've been looking but have not found that perfect "valley of death" just yet but figure that there has to be somebody who in their explorations for strategic locations has found the ideal place to hide something that spits out missiles and flak that is impossible to hit except with advanced weapons employment techniques.
  14. Apache may be a non starter for market reasons... Combat Helo. Why compete in an already limited market Yes, vaporware...but so is all else until it materializes. If I had one choice of aircraft for Eagle to make and then nothing, ever again...if they could do a two seater... Apache of course... If single seater... Charlie Hornet.
  15. how does legacy dovetail into the DCS battlefield, though? Any 3rd world countries still flying A-1H Skyraiders?
