X56 Help

Firstly Hi,

 

Sorry if this is a basic question but I'm really struggling now and not going forward. I'm finding myself spending more time trying to get the controller working than flying the plane.

 

I'm trying to map a rotary switch (Rotary 4) on a X56 to increase / decrease the console lights.

 

So far I have done the following.

 

1) Mapped the rotary switch to the following keys

 

Increase = Right Shift 0

 

Decrease = Right Shift 9

 

Saved and load the profile in Windows 10.

I then opened up DCS (F18 Sim) and mapped the following key to the console increase and decrease.

 

Increase = Right Shift 0

 

Decrease = Right Shift 9

 

DCS Setup

 

 

However the controls are not working.

 

I can guarantee I'm doing something "stupid" but if anyone could help it would be much appreciated.

Don not map buttons to the rotary axis in the X-56 software, whatever the software is called. Delete all mappings on your rotary axis and go to the DCS controls setup. There is a axis section for each aircraft. Select that and then search for the correct axis and map this to your rotary. That should do it.
