Hey guys,

So, you read it right - F/A18D. A two seater.

Nothing really complicated, except the HOTAS settings.

I plan on purchasing two virpil bases with two F/A 18 TM grips and two TM warthhog throttles.

How would you go about Daisy chaining those? I need DCS to acknowledge the last command sent by either sticks and somehow synchronize the throttle.

Has anyone encountered a motorized throttle upgrade?

Suggestions are more than welcome.

Thanks.

I don't know about the Hornet, but in two-seater Vipers the throttles are mechanically linked, the sticks are switced, they don't work together. You should read the NATOPS to see if this is he case with the Hornet or not.

Thanks for the info.

I'll check it out.

Are you doing a trainer or night strike configuration? Because the strike configuration has has 2 rigid mounted sticks on the side consoles that have no flight control function.

A trainer.

I'm a total noob when it comes to DCS. So, it's gonna be a learning experience.

From what I gather, connecting two sticks in parallel and assigning both of them as active controllers is doable.

Same goes for the throttle. But, I need to find a way to motorize the throttles, so, they'll be in sync.

I can't connect them mechanically. I'm thinking a stepper motor on both throttles that mirror the position of each other.
