Livers Posted August 7, 2020 Posted August 7, 2020 The latest release notes for Stable have this little tidbit: "Added M77 DPICM submunitions for M26 (missile M270 MLRS)." Does anyone know what this means? I ask because this weapon seems to have very little effect, if any, on armor now. Prior to this update, one could get lucky on occasion and knockout a MBT or five with it. Currently, you're lucky to get a whiff of smoke. 1
G.J.S Posted August 8, 2020 Posted August 8, 2020 The M77 DPICM consists of anti personnel and anti materiel bomblets (over 600 per rocket), that - in RW anyway - have a dubious failure rate. I don’t think they are used anymore? Anyway, depending on the ratio of AP to AM/AT that ED have set, that possibly may have a bearing on your success rate with this munition. Is munition failure modelled?? Unsure. I’m away from gaming PC for a while, but maybe try setting up a field of personnel, maybe a few light skin vehicles, and set an MLRS unit to give them a rocket, and see if there are any effect there? - - - The only real mystery in life is just why kamikaze pilots wore helmets? - - -
