Frederf Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 When a surface radar picture is designated in freeze mode the point under the designation cursor is not at the position designated according to the display. Instead it is incorrect due to the motion of the airplane since the freeze was initiated. When the radar picture freeze is activated then what should happen is the correlation between every point on the DDI display and the actual terrain remains constant regardless of subsequent maneuvers. I'm not sure if the displayed terrain is supposed to rotate or not with airplane heading changes (possibly not). The practical impact is that after the radar display is frozen the pilot is able to designate any point on the frozen display and the resulting designated point will be at the corresponding location. Currently designating on a frozen radar picture is pointlessly inaccurate.Surf Frz Point.zip
