Hello !

I have installed Lockon Gold+patch 1.12b , but after the start of FC I only feel of the jet noises and voices that I presume are in the start screen . The cursor remains fixed to hourglass, the cpu it is to 100%, and this is all .

My PC, even if not recent, run whit CallOfDuty4 and IL-2 1946 well: Win XP sp2+Athlon 2800+1gb ram+Nvidia6600 256agp ( drivers 93.71 ) .

Installed cd1: LockOn 1.01 , run, no problem here

Installed cd2: FC over LockOn, non patches, run, only noise, no image.

Installed LO_Flaming_Cliffs_Patch_1.12b_EngCD_Gold.exe, , run, only noise, no image.

Help please !

It's obvious You we've got problems with FC1.1! 1.01 worked for U, but when U installed FC1.1 you started having problems. Looks like FC install got corrupted, I had similar issues because of my firewall blocking installation and acccess to .dll files.

Is it plain Flaming Cliffs 1.1 or Gold edition?! IIRC (Gold had some problems)...

2nd thing to note is 1.12b Gold patch!

No need to install FC1.12b_gold if you have plain FC!

I'm not thinking Vista for another year, at least until I buy some multi core rig because I doubt my P-IV @2.8GHz would endure it so there's no need for me to patch to 1.12b (Vista patch).

So the way I install FC1.12a is next:

1) install LOMAC 1.0

2) backup Lock On folder and rename it LOMAC1.0

3) install FC1.1 over Lock On

4) backup Lock On again and rename it FC1.1

4) patch up Lock on with 1.12a

5) hit .exe

Now you'll see I've got 3 folders: LOMAC1.0 (clean), FC1.1 (clean) and Lock On (active folder) so if anything goes bad during this dance you'll be able to skip few steps. Remember, active game is always called Lock On so in order to play LOMAC1.0 simply rename it to Lock On. IF you encounter any difficulties down the road you can always revert a step or two back.

So I advise trying the same. You wrote that video output disappeared after you installed FC over LOMAC 1.0. If you've done the same as I do you could try installing FC again over LOMAC.

Once you fix your problem and learn about it please post what actually happened!
