Hi all, I’m trying to get the INS aligned on the ground on a cold and dark startup and I’m struggling to get the lay and long entered into the comp as I’m not seeing the POS setting on the ODA come up.

So basically Im Starting up the engine, turning on both MFDs, HUD, Radio brightness etc, going to EHSD, Data, AC, And moving the GPS switch to align ground, and then as I understand it, I should press POS on the ODA which allows me to enter the lat / long on the UFC. But the issue is the ODA is staying blank. Has anyone got any ideas where I’m going wrong

Works fine on board ship, although granted it uses a data cable then to get the ship info.

I know it’s likely something I’m not doing, I just can’t see what, even though the answer is likely in front of my face.

Then select Grnd for alignment

Wait for OK on alignment time

What am I doing wrong on ins alignment?

If the ODA is blank, try turning it on. There are knobs for turning on radios 1 and 2. Knob to turn on UFC displays is to the right of the main UFC display. Turn the knob to full bright.

I’ve come across this before and this was my mistake.

"Before starting INS alignment, always make sure the INS Mode switch is set to OFF. "
