A famous photo that some of you will have seen before.

 

I remember seeing this a long time ago and it still impresses me as much now as it did then.

Recently came across it again and thought I'd share it for those who haven't seen it.

 

Must be a really weird feeling for the pilots, sitting at such an unnatural angle whilst only moving slowly forwards.

Awesome to see though, pity there's no video of it to be found.

It's an amazing photo, to be sure, but that's a 600 for tow line and the aircraft never had more than a 25 degree nose down attitude. It looks much closer to the ground and at a steeper pitch angle due to the use of a telephoto lens.
