Rising Dragon Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Just there are few things was not in the Lock on instruction book. Is there anyone who can tell me what do they do? 1 {REMOVED BY FORUM ADMIN}
4c Hajduk Veljko Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Picture on the right is a cockpit of the Su-25KM (Kommercheskiy Modernizirovannyy) Scorpion. This was a cooperative effort between original Grach (Su-25) manufacturer in Tbilisi (Georgia) and Elbit Systems of Israel. The first time it flew as a technology demonstrator was on April 18, 2001. I don’t know what the fate of the project is as of right now. The Su-25KM is mostly electronics upgrade to Grach and weight saving of up to 315Kg was achieved using modern digital systems. The Scorpion updated cockpit displays offered a pilot better presentation system. Scorpion is also upgraded to use Lizard laser guided bombs as well as Mk-82. Elbit DASH (Display And Sight Helmet) system is also available for Scorpion. Source: Su-25 Frogfoot Close Air Support Aircraft” By Yefim Gordon and Alan Dawes. 4c Hajduk Veljko Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Picture on the left: „КЛИН“ has something to do with the engine intakes. „ТОРМОЗ“ is left and right wheel brakes. „ГИДРО“ is some kind of hydraulic pressure. „EKRAN“ just below MFD or HDD is a display showing diagnostic codes and abbreviations. And a gauge below „EKRAN“ is a cab pressure gauge (not sure on that one). If one of them is left and one of them is right, what does the third one indicate. And could you please teach me how to read "EKRAN"? {REMOVED BY FORUM ADMIN}
mvsgas Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 Just there are few things was not in the Lock on instruction book. Is there anyone who can tell me what do they do? Is the photo or screen shoot on the left the SU-33 cockpit? If it is, I have often wander myself. Maybe some one that is familiar with it can tell us. Deriving form aircraft I have work on and hoping that some one that work on this things can correct me, so I learn myself: The part that said ГИДРО, if my Russian is correct( and I have no idea if it is) spells "Geedro" and I believe is the Hydraulics. Most aircraft have several hydraulics systems. I believe ЭКРАН (ekran) means screen, I think it is a warning screen, not sure if it work fully in Lock on. Like =4c= Hajduk Veljko said, ТОРМОЗ ЛЕВ, ПРАВ (TORMOZ LEV, PRAV) I think it means left and right brake. the third one could be a back up hydraulic accumulator for the brakes, maybe that is why it is at a lower pressure to reduce hydraulics vibration and to prevent hydraulic systems to fight each other. I wander is КЛИН (klin) is the bypass doors at the bottom of the intake, or maybe is the leading edge flap, or even the canards. Well at any rate thanks for asking this stuff since I always forget to ask myself and have always been curious about it. Hopefully some one that works on Russian equipment can tell us. To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
RvETito Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 "КЛИН" is the indication of the position of the engine intake vanes which control the shock waves, so you can only see that gauge moving at supersonic speed. The 3rd bar next to the brakes (TОРМОЗ) indicator is the pressure in the hydraulic accumulator. There's not much to be said about the "ЕКРАН", you'll see it's full potential in Black Shark. I can recall of only few messages that appear like "НЕТ ПОДКАЧКИ"(NO BOOST PRESSURE) when you flame out, also in hydraulic failure. Others are the "OЧЕРЕДЬ"(SEQUENCE) and "ПАМЯТЬ"(MEMORY) messages on the two fields on the top which go on/off at lift-off/touch down. The gauge bellow the "EKRAN" is the cockpit differential pressure(cockpit altitude) indicator. Not working AFAIK. "See, to me that's a stupid instrument. It tells what your angle of attack is. If you don't know you shouldn't be flying." - Chuck Yeager, from the back seat of F-15D at age 89. =RvE=
