haven't played the A-10c in a long time but is it normal or is it a bug that

when coming in for close guns attack(ccip mode set for gun sight occlusion off),...,the targeting pod jumps off of the spi(therefore moving the spi) even though it's set to soi. It's like it gets confused and jumps away.

Yes, it is normal. The TGP cannot look straight ahead because of its gimbal design. This is called gimbal lock, and what happens when the TGP hits the "dead zone" is that it spins around it and tries to get to the correct position from the other side, invariably losing point track and shifting the SPI.

If you want to strafe the SPI, drop a markpoint on the location and make that your SPI. Or even use the markpoint box itself. With moving targets, you're out of luck unless you can acquire them visually, which is usually pretty straightforward if you're getting that close.

thanks...this was very frustrating,...atleast now I know I'm not having controller issues.
