Redragefun Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 If I am flying low and fast, I suddenly get a master caution light and the message, "Engine Overspeed Right, Engine Overspeed Left," and on the HSI it is written as: Eng Ovrspd Right/Left. I have no idea what this means. Flying around 200-400 feet with throttles at military power, usually doing 550-600 IAS. All I can think is that the Hornet has a speed limit, at that altitude in the Persian Gulf, maybe the air is too dense and the engines are straining a bit, but I don't know. Never heard of this one. At least I haven't snapped the wings off, yet.

Bunny Clark Posted October 23, 2020 Posted October 23, 2020 The advisory is caused by engine RPM being too high. See NATOPS V-12-23. Basically, throttling down should clear the advisory.
