Schmidtfire Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Rocket delivery (CCIP) do not produce a CCIP Target Designation. It should designate a point at weapon realase (just like the CCIP bomb release) Described in the A1-AV8BB-TAC-000 (2-53) and also clearly seen on HUD in this video (@ 1:50) FYI.This HUD video might be from Harrier II+, but the CCIP TD with Weapon Release is also described in A1-AV8BB-TAC-000. The missing dot in the current TD isymbol has already been checked and reported in another post.
RAZBAM_ELMO Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 I'm struggling to understand what it is that you think is wrong. Could you explain in in more detail please? Schmidtfire Posted November 4, 2020 Author Posted November 4, 2020 Oh sorry, my bad. 1. When you drop a bomb in CCIP it produces a Target Designation at the CCIP crosshair location. Making it easier for a re-attack. Thats is implemented in our DCS Harrier and working. 2. Same thing should happen for a rockets delivery in CCIP. A Target Designation-box would appear where the rocket reticle is aimed at weapon release. This however does not work in DCS. 2.4.6.4 CCIP Target Designation with Weapon Release. At weapon release in the CCIP mode, the computed impact point is automatically designated. The TD diamond appears at the designated target location. Reattack steering is then provided on the HUD and EHSI/ EHSD display. The video I posted shows this behaviour @ 1:50. As pilot release the rockets a designation (diamond with a dot) appears over the target. Making it easier to re-attack.
RAZBAM_ELMO Posted November 4, 2020 Posted November 4, 2020 Can you post a trk with that issue isolated please. I cant chjeck right now but perhaps you can try with the DMT alone, no TPOD, try with the TPOD DMT switch off and making sure you DESG a steer point first and see if it pops up. If its still not working in any configuration then ofc it will need to be added. Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. Schmidtfire Posted November 20, 2020 Author Posted November 20, 2020 It produces a TD when bombing in CCIP. No CCIP TD with rockets. Sorry I don't have a track, but the functionality has never been added (AV-8B N/A owner since release)
Rob Posted November 21, 2020 Posted November 21, 2020 Please see the attached track. Order of events: 1.) Drop MK82 in CCIP, and show that it creates a target point. 2.) Undesignate to hide the created target point 3.) Fire rockets in CCIP, no target point created 4.) Fire gun in CCIP, no target point created Attached screen shots: shot01.jpg: Target point created after CCIP release of MK82 shot02.jpg: CCIP release of rockets, no target point created shot03.jpg: CCIP fire of guns, no target point created (not sure if working as intended or not, included for completeness) shot04.jpg: Screenshot at 1m48s of VMA-542 video prior to release, CCIP line up before firing rockets, no target point shot05.jpg: Screenshot at 1m50s of VMA-542 video after release of CCIP rockets, target point created Am not sure about the gun and CCIP target point creation, included in the track for completeness. RAZBAM_ELMO Posted November 21, 2020 Posted November 21, 2020 So during these you did not have the DESG boxed? Were you using the TPOD or DMT with the DESG boxed? Ill have to look into this further when I can get time on the computer. Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane.
