Fisherman82 Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 As the title say, please add some ability to order AI wingmen to attack specific ground targets. As of now AI wingmen are useless to engage anything else than what is specified before the mission in the ME. For stationary interdiction type targets therefore they are of some use but in CAS scenarios they are useless. It would be of enormous help if the AI wingmen atleast could be ordered to attack targets using the engage my target command for targets that the player is laser designating or IR designating with the targeting pod. With laser guided weapons when the wingman are carrying these and preferably also dumb weapons when carrying targeting pod himself with laser spot tracker or NVG if IR marking. Ideally one could also dream of ways as described in below, but if only the way with laser described above would be implemented in not to distant future atleast some use of the wingmen would be restored. In the SU25T and A10A you have some ability to designate individual targets but the Hornet is still lacking this totally. Additional ways (these ways are dependant of that in reality one can say on the radio "I take the one on the left, you take the one on the right" when you and the wingmen are seeing the same on a sensor): Ability to issue the engage my target command for a spot on the ground when you are in area track in the tgp without need of laser Ability to issue the engage my target command for a spot on the ground when you are in point track in the tgp without need of laser Ability to issue the engage my target command for a HARM target marked in the RWR or the Harm display. And obviously from A/G radar but I dont go into that because its so new and so on. One thing about air to air also: Today you can issue the engage my target command for a target you have locked in STT It would be tremendously helpful if this could also be issued for the L&S target in TWS or LTWS because in a BVR engagement you loose valuable seconds when you most go into STT and then drop lock and find your own targets.
