Should F16 autopilot disengage when fuel door is opened?

I was practising the refueling mission and noticed that Alt hold wasn't working. I've used it previously to help with the nuance of refueling but noticed that the plane wouldn't hold altitude over the last couple of days. I tracked it down to ALL the autopilot switches failing to operate when the fueling switch is set to open. They can all be flipped, they just don't work. Is that a regression bug or an accurate modelling of the FCS? It's been a very long time since I've practiced refueling, so not sure this is a false memory, although I'm pretty sure the Alt hold used to work many betas ago.

Maybe to hold Course while doing the Switchology and then concentrate on approaching the Tanker.

Anyways, the way you describe it, it sounds like a bug. Because if the Autopilot gets kicked out by the System the switch will move back to the off position and not stay in Place and just doesnt work.

The Only thing this happenes is when you hold down the Paddle Switch and only as long as you hold it down.

It would make sense to me to kick out of Autopilot when opening the Refuel Doors just that you dont have to fight against the Autopilot when you close to another plane but the way you describe it doesnt sound like thats the case here.

Yes, the conditions for A/P switch returning to off are:

Air refuel switch set open

ALT flaps extend (<400kt)

AOA > 15

DBU engaged

LG handle down

LSWT sounding

MPO switch engaged

FLCS standby gains PFL

AP disconnect switch disconnect

It does return the switch to neutral (pitch). The roll switch stays where it is. Your joystick might be holding the switch against the spring the same as if you hold mouse click.
