Is there an easy way to change colour of text??

I know this has been discussed before, but I cannot seem to find any new info regarding this for latest 2.5. Is there a simpler way to change the white text of the Comms menu as it sometimes becomes unreadable. Is it the lua file that will allow the colour change? If so, I can then make a copy and use jsgme so not to lose the original.
