Noctrach Posted November 14, 2020 Posted November 14, 2020 CAP BRG is currently using the aircraft heading as reference. This means that a contact bearing of e.g. 270 with ownship heading of 300 gives a CAP BRG result of 330. As such, the current number is a very weird representation of antenna train angle, rather than contact bearing. This behaviour is the same in ground and aircraft stabilization modes. Is this intended behaviour or a bug?
BreaKKer Posted November 17, 2020 Posted November 17, 2020 Intended. A bandit that is 30 degrees off your left will show as “BRG 330 RNG XXX” or a bandit at your 9 would be “BRG 270 RNG XXX”. It’s just quick math in your head. I am unsure whether this was changed to 30L/90L with the introduction of the PTID software, and/or newer fishbowl software updated. Noctrach Posted November 17, 2020 Author Posted November 17, 2020 Yeah, upon further testing I noticed waypoints and similar actually do give BRG so I started to figure it was intended :) Thanks for your input
