Max Thunder Posted November 21, 2020 Posted November 21, 2020 Hey, can somebody explain what the numbers in the Jester menu behind the GND STAB selection means? 12700k | 3090 | 64GB DDR4 | WD SN850X | Quest 3
Sideburns Posted November 21, 2020 Posted November 21, 2020 If you are referring to what I think you are this is to do with the TID. The TID (Tactical Information Display) is normally aircraft stabilised, i.e. your aircraft circle is fixed on the TID and all over things, waypoints and tracks move around it. When you select Ground Stabilised, aka GND STAB, it will mean the TID becomes stabilised w.r.t ground (for the specified duration of time with Jester) rather than your own aircraft. This means your own aircraft will now move around on the TID as it move across the terrain, the TID projection will be stabilised around a static ground point. This can be used to get an alternate perspective of the situation, particularly for seeing what is behind you. With a real human RIO they can also move the ground stabilised TID around to suit, i.e. to put your aircraft in a corner of the display. 1 Ryzen 5800x@5Ghz | 96gb DDR4 3200Mhz | Asus Rx6800xt TUF OC | 500Gb OS SSD + 1TB Gaming SSD | Asus VG27AQ | Trackhat clip | VPC WarBRD base | Thrustmaster stick and throttle (Deltasim minijoystick mod). Max Thunder Posted November 21, 2020 Author Posted November 21, 2020 Ahh thanks, so its the time how long Jester keep the GND Stab? Means if I select GND STAB 120s Jester used the GND STAB Mode for 120 seconds and than he goes back to AC Stab? 12700k | 3090 | 64GB DDR4 | WD SN850X | Quest 3
Sideburns Posted November 21, 2020 Posted November 21, 2020 Yeah, pretty much. As before it can be useful to get a glance on your rear for DL targets and waypoints etc. When I RIO I usually switch between ground stab and aircraft stab when not in combat to give the pilot an alternate perspective. Believe ground stab is north orientated.
