"DCS" folder in saved games and still getting "airio commands not available" error

Im still getting "airio commands not available" which is still driving me nuts working around and resetting VAICOM to fix seemingly every other week.

 

VAICOM keeps putting a "DCS" folder in my saved games folder separate from my actual DCS.openbeta folder. custom path is set to C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta, stand-alone and beta both checked And theres Mods and Scripts folder dumped into the root of C:

 

i dont know if this causing the airio error or another issue

There is definitely something not right - please can you post your Vaicom logfile (<your voiceattack install folder>/apps/vaicompro/logs) as it looks like something is getting confused

I suspect you have something amiss in the registry values for DCS. You might get this if there is a registry value for DCS (not the open beta version) that points to the root of C:. It would be helpful to report the log file generated with debugging turned on, since that will report the files that DCS is updating and where it is getting the locations to update.

 

Also, what do you mean by "stand-alone and beta both checked?" I don't see any place to "check" both of them at once in VAICOM.

I checked in reg-edit and there was an entry for DCS as well as the open beta, so blew that away. so the DCS ghost folder is no more.

This is my log file. Went into the Wolf Pack server, AIRIO works fine, Went into the HOGGIT Training server, no joy with AIRIO, went in Caucasus free flight SP and AIRIO works fine.

@Hollywood_315 did a complete uninstall/reinstall done every trick i can find and still getting this error 

 

"simple" instant action missions works perfectly

TTI and DCS Liberation "complex" SP missions phrase is recognised by VA but F-14 does not show in PTT window and "airio commands not available"

 

Hoggit training server phrase is recognised by VA but F-14 does not show in PTT window, and "airio commands not available"

Wolf pack server works perfectly

 

all above in same DCS session, log above is from an earlier session, showing recognised phrase no airio and working airio

 

Any progress or hope on the horizon for a fix for this?

Obvious perhaps, but VAICOM is going to say that AIRIO commands are not available unless it detects that you are in the Tomcat, which it obviously didn't do in the first part of your log file. Assuming you were on Hoggit and in the Tomcat when you gave those commands, the focus should be on why it isn't recognizing that you were in the Tomcat when you gave the first set of commands. You might report on whether there are any known differences in server settings across those MP servers. Seems like you only have the problem on Hoggit.

both servers have player exports enabled, hoggit password protected is only diff

 

problem happens in simple sp missions compared to complex many unit type sp missions

Same problem here. Fresh install on new computer.

 

I reinstalled Voice Attack and the AIRIO extenension. No go. Found that in 'EX' tab I can select AIRIO but the option for ICS Hot Mic is grey and not selectable. No idea why this doesn't work.

 

Tried debug but just repeats 'AIRIO commands are not available' and no other information. Als removed export.lua and you guessed. Did nothing either.

 

I am out of ideas. So any help is appriciated.

Option for ICS Hot Mic is no longer selectable because it follows the switch setting in the Tomcat pilot cockpit. (The checkbox on the options screen doesn't sync with a change in the switch setting until you push a TX button, however.)

 

Further suggestions: Is VAICOM working otherwise or is it only an AIRIO issue? Does VAICOM recognize that you are in the Tomcat? (That is, is the Tomcat identified as the current module on the PTT page when you are in game using the Tomcat?) It would help possibly with diagnosis if you could attach the VA and VAICOM logs, with debug mode enabled.

@sthompson, again operator error I’m afraid. I read ‘AIRIO commands are not available’ as that the commands are not properly installed and therefor can not be used. As I wasn’t in the F14 pit I now understand it should be interpreted that they are not available because you dumb ass are not in a F14!
