Weren't they planning on going with a foreign, yet superior, tanker from Airbus? By the looks of that photo, the politicians won. :doh:

Some were saying it was "superior" to the proposed 767, my mistake. Interesting that some said that the whole thing was European except for the engines, yet its obviously being presented as a US job-creating opportunity.

It appears to be the same but I'm a bit confused because they are using the same argument for it now as they did against it. :huh:

RAAFs first green aircraft arrived in Brisbane for fitting out.

It's based on a Airbus A330 (Europe), but it will be built in the US together with northrop-grumman. :)
