Alexrey Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Two really weird things happened to me while playing online today. The first was that I was shot down by an R-77 while flying straight and level, but my RWR gave me now warning and it didn't even show that a radar nearby had been turned on. The second and even weirder thing was that I recorded that flight, and then when I played the recording to get an ACMI file made, my recording showed that I hadn't even got into the air. It showed that I crashed on take-off by going off the side of the runway. By I was actually in the air for about 30 minutes and also got a kill. What the heck happened? Why did I not get a launch warning for the R-77 or even a warning that a radar nearby had been turned on prior to the launch? And more so, why did my recording show that I crashed on take-off?
GGTharos Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Were you shot at from significantly below or above you? That would be outside your RWR limits ;) As for your track, trying playing it again, see if it does the same thing. Sometimes tracks end up getting recorded unreliably, and there's not much you can do about this. Geier Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Were you shot at from significantly below or above you? That would be outside your RWR limits ;) Same situation will take place when the enemy lock up you in by using IR. In this very case you have a chance to get away when the missile lock you by its warhead - but only for few seconds
S77th-konkussion Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 He said it was an R-77, although I have seen errors in the logs to say the least. [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=43337&d=1287169113[/sIGPIC]
bandera Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 ...why did my recording show that I crashed on take-off? It look like, that you used reconstruction, when you recorded that flight. In this case record is wrong all time. If you want to get the correctly track, you must get out from the game and saved your track every time, when you are destroyed. 1
Vekkinho Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Tracks often get porked in LOFC, especially MultiPlayer tracks... I remember I flew 200m below the sea with my squadron mates! Good for AmbushCAP! No sonar on F-15! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
FVMAD Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Bandera, ment recover. Track file will always fail to play correctly after recovery. So after death/ejection exit and record new track. 1
concrete Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 RWR gave me now warning and it didn't even show that a radar nearby had been turned on. the answer is That would be outside your RWR limits ;) ...not in distance, but in degrees, limits of RWR +-30 up and down of horizontal. bandit was to high or to low, and i think to close because he didn't turn radar, but he shot R77 - very close, the enemy lock up you in by using IR one time i was hit in same way during online play! ...greetings my little friends... Geier Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Yes, you can do it with every missile in LO you want - SARH/ARH and IR of course.
FLANKERATOR Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 if the bandit locked you using EOS he would have made a fast IFF check bu turning on radar for less than 1 sec so u RWR wont hear a damn thing before the pitbull activation. Surely, he fired the Adder in visual directly under you and directly above you which makes your RWR useless. S!
