GTX2660Ti Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 The default terrain grounds shadows kills fps very much at low altitude above the forest. And I find that DCS tends to render these shadows at lower resolution if I fly away from them, so there must be a way to change their resolution when I fly close to them, and it is not difficult for ED team to create new options for default terrain ground shadows, such as "low, medium and high".
Lurker Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 Just use flat shadows. I doubt that low shadows on the ground will be an improvement over flat shadows anyway and they will look worse. But flat shadows are not the same thing, they stick out horizontally into mid air from trees on hills and that looks just wrong.
GTX2660Ti Posted January 21, 2021 Author Posted January 21, 2021 Yeah, flat shadows are totally wrong and I can't accept it.
