CaptYosi73 Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 (edited) I open a new post because although I started answering in another (sudden increase in GPU usage 100%) I am seeing that in my case the increase is not so considerable and observing in the MIS Afterburnner capture I do not detect anything strange that causes it: the temperature remains at all times at normal values, the VRAM is maintained (can not increase much more), the RAM also constant, and although the CPU does not show anything strange. In Steam's fpsVR you can always see the CPU frametime graph in green. But then suddenly the GPU frametime spikes and reduces the fps, making the simulator run very badly, but there is no apparent change in GPU usage - or at least that is drastic. MSI Afterburnner screenshot In the MSI Afterburnner screenshot I have boxed in red when the problem started. It coincided when flying solo over Batumi with the empty supercarrier in the vicinity...only cabin shadows in low, water in the middle, visibility range in high, MSAA 2X but at 0.24% of application, we go light so that with the G2 with a resolution of 2188 × 2140 (42%) the sim runs smoothly. Someone told me that it might be related to NVIDIA driver problems and SteamVR. Now I have the 445.75 and never had that problem, but I come from the Oculus environment and a Rift S. Do you think this could be the problem? Regards My computer: Ryzen 3700X, AOUROS X570 PRO, RTX 2080 and 32 GB at 3600MHz. Edited January 21, 2021 by CaptYosi73
CaptYosi73 Posted January 22, 2021 Author Posted January 22, 2021 (edited) ...these are the latest tests without updating NIVIDIA drivers yet, but this is what it shows for example when I enter the mission for the first time: Entering mission after starting DCS ...and this when I enter for the second time: Entering the same mission for the second time (without exiting DCS) Notice that in the second screenshot the VRAM has dropped from 7.7 to 6.9 GB. Then when the problem that triggers the frametime is reproduced, when I exit the mission the fpsVR capture shows an erratic behavior of the GPU frametime: Debriefing menu I will try uninstalling the drivers with the CDU and install the ones Rioku commented to see if it improves something. What NIVIDIA drivers do you have now with the G2? I'm using the 445.75 Regards PD. One question I don't know how to make the images show instead of showing as links. The images are in my DRIVE Edited January 22, 2021 by CaptYosi73
CaptYosi73 Posted January 23, 2021 Author Posted January 23, 2021 ...I just flew for almost an hour straight and the problem did not recur. I just didn't have MSI Afterburnner or fpsVR monitoring during the session. It was not a single flight but I have chained four flights, the first in the TOMCAT pointing at CVN-73 in the vicinity of Batumi, with NOE flights in the valleys in the vicinity: half an hour in a row. Then I switched to the HORNET and I dispatched "Maverick and Goose" and their brand new F-14D in a couple of dogfights and everything was still fine: smooth and even reached 90 without reprojection when I reached a certain altitude. This was impossible on a second flight without exiting and re-entering DCS. So it seems that we are narrowing down the problem, and that it is related to the mini-monitoring, something I already knew but with RIFT S it was not so noticeable?! Monitoring and SteamVR...poop, bad, don't touch?! This test has still been with the usual drivers, the new ones I have downloaded but I leave it for tomorrow already... Best regards SOFT!!!
