I just started DCS about 4 days ago and have been flying the training tutorial missions with an F/A18C Hornet.  I made a number of keybinds to my HOTAS buttons to make things a little easier than using the keyboard.  I should note that these keybinds are on SIM mode.  So today I thought I would try one of the single player missions - when the mission started it placed me on a carrier deck ready for launch - but suddenly none of the keybinds that worked in the training missions were recognized on the single player mission.  So I tried joining multiplayer server, connected into it and voila the keybinds to my HOTAS worked again.  Can someone explain to me what I am doing wrong? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have found that several training missions exhibited this behavior (past and present), for numerous aircraft modules.

I believe the "fix" for it is to load the training mission, take control of the aircraft, then end the mission, then select 'fly again' rather than completely exiting.  Could be wrong about the exact procedure there (as it's been quite awhile since I've attempted) - but worth a shot.

DCS mission files have the (somewhat annoying) ability to have things saved inside them that overwrite your local settings.  This can be view settings, MFD pages options in some aircraft, etc.  We periodically see missions from ED that also mess up keybinds.  I don't "think" this is possible with community made missions, but it's a bug that comes around periodically in DCS from time to time.  The fixes vary.  The one suggested above often works.  The other thing that can work if opening the mission in the mission editor, and then re-saving it with a new name, and flying the new mission instead.
