Maps and Comingling. High Fidelity vs Flaming Cliffs (New User)

Hello All,

I am a very new player (weeks) into DCS. I'm just getting back into the flight sim since the days of Falcon 3.0, and so the bug has hit me. My question is- I want to play on different maps (change of scenery) with my Flaming Cliffs pack. I'm interested in the Syria and Persian Gulf map and possibly others. I just don't know whats compatible and what isn't with the modules out there. Any help is appreciated. The only logical assumption I surmise, is version requirements. So I'm guessing they can??

Respectfully,

Mike

You can fly your Flaming Cliff, planes on any of the maps. Any plane or Helicopter on any map, basically. Some of the modules are definitely more suited to particular eras. Persian Gulf and/or Syria are great for the more modern fighter jets/Helicopters.

Understood and that makes a lot of sense. I appreciate the feedback. Part of me thinks it would be cool to buzz the beaches of Normandy in a fighter though 😕

"Cool to buzz the beaches of Normandy in a fighter..." - Then do it. All the aircraft are good to go with any of the maps, whether they historically or logically fit or not. At the end of the day we define our fun. All planes all maps all together anytime. It all works. Have fun and happy flying!

NP, and like the other poster said it's your money and your game, do whatever makes you happy. One caveat though, if you go multiplayer, you most likely won't see any f18's on a WWII type server. So if you happen to buy, say Normandy and a modern jet. Don't expect to be playing them together online.

Cheers,
