grafspee Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 (edited) I'm asking ED team to consider ide to add realistic approach for cold weather operation. it is Oil dilution before engine shut down so plane will have diluted oil for next start up, or is it some kind of engine pre-heating or what ever Axis or Allied used to be able to run those Warbirds. I know that P-51 had additional coolant shutter to help prevent overcooling in extremes cold weather. Mogster Posted February 3, 2021 Posted February 3, 2021 From “The Big Show” Closterman says in cold weather the ground crews would start and warm the engines periodically, day and night. I think the Napier Sabre was particularly tricky though.
