recently I got my HP Reverb G2 as an upgrade to my Lenovo Explorer. When firing up DCS I noticed that when flying in intense environments resulting in low FPS my GPU is not maxed out but sitting at around 70% utilization regardless of how demanding the situation is.

After a little bit of looking around I found out its because my GPU thinks my main app drawing power is the WMR window and not DCS, so when I focus on DCS it reduces the resources to it. When I focus on the WMR my FPS in DCS jumps up by a considerable amount,

even though my last headset was a WMR it didn't happen and at demanding times the GPU went up to 100%.

any ideas about how to fix this issue?

Thanks a lot in advance.

How are you checking which app is being prioritized for GPU and CPU?

SYS : RYZEN 9 5950X + Crosshair VIII Hero + RTX 3090 FE 32GB + TridentZ NEO 32GB 3600MHz + FireCuda 520 1TB

VR Pimax 8KX : DCS 1.0, VR, Steam 100% (3148x3160), FOV 120 degrees || Quest2 || Index || Reverb G2

SIM : DCS || Star Wars Squadrons || Rise of Flight || IL2 Battle of Stalingrad || Elite Dangerous || Star Citizen

DCS: Textures & Terrain High, Water & Vis Medium, Heat Blur Low, Shadows Medium, MSAA 2x, DoF OFF, Lens Flare Only, Motion Blur Off, SSAA & SSLR Off, Clutter 170, Trees 66%, Smoke 0, Anisotropic 2x, Terrain Shadows Flat, Cockpit Global Illumination On

PIT : VKB Gunfighter base + VKB F14 grip || VKB Kosima grip + Virpl TC50 CM3 throttle + Logitch G pedals + Pimax Leap Motion hand tracking + SimShaker feedback

When you say you are focusing on one or the other, how are you doing that? I usually just set DCS and vrserver to high priority.

System Specs: 13900K, Strix Z790 Gaming E, MSI 4090 Sprim Liquid X  OC'd, 64gb Gskill Trident Z DDR5, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 SSD,. Winwing throttle, Winwing panels/MIPs and VKB GF3/MCGU stick, MFG Crosswind V2, HP REVERB G2.

I just look in the task manager at the GPU utilization, it goes up when I alt-tab into the WMR window, when I alt-tab back to DCS it goes back down (the FPS in DCS comes up and down with it)

by "focusing" on an app I mean alt-tabbing into it.

Where do you set those programs as high priority?

Task manager, when the app runs, select "go to details" by right clicking, then "Set priority".
