I need the definitive LOMAC graphics guide...is this it?

I'm looking for the closest thing to what could be considered the definitive guide on what each parameter does in the config file. This Sim Mod offering is the best thing I've ever seen, but is FAR from complete:

Still wondering what "mirage density" and "mirage clip" is, no clue. What does increasing a clip value by 1 actually do in-game? Who knows. After 4 years, do we still not know exactly what every parameter means? And please, do not point me towards ThomasDW's FPS tweak. As good as it is, I still want to know for myself what all this stuff means.

Mirage is civilian traffic (cars, trains)

No kidding? Then what the hell is "dynamic density"? While we're at it...if Mirage means civy traffic, then ModMan's got it all wrong. Anyone care to give me the low down on what Structure, Dynamic, Objects, and Surface mean? I'm assuming lights is just that...number of lights (density) and how far out they appear (clipping).

I don't have a clue what Dynamic is for... but I know Structures are buildings, Trees are trees (duh :D) Objects are active aircraft (non stationary), vehicles and ships, and I assume weapons... Mirage is civilian trafic and trains... now Dynamic could possibly be chimney smoke or maybe those moving cranes, don't really know. Oh and surface I am also not quite sure but I think that's how far you want terrain to be covered by texture but I'm not quite sure on this... and yeah, clipping is viewable distance.

No it isn't. I've read all that before, too. Thank you Kuky for that explanation. Its more than I new before. Somebody needs to get the guy who writes those guides at tweakguides.com to take a look at LOMAC. He usually seems to be able to figure out what most config parameters do.

I realized that now re-reading the post... I made made a hasty reply before heading out the door to a wedding this morning.

 

Yea, a guide to all the settings and parameters for the graphics.cfg would be nice! Another tip is to download LOCFG and "reverse engineer" some of the settings it changes to find what they correspond to in the graphics.cfg. Just a thought!
