Micr0 Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 I wanted to put on the wish list that the landing area lights simply remain on at all times. I've run into numerous instances during daylight operations where the weather is poor enough to restrict visibility but it's not quite case two or three so the landing area lights remain off. This can make seeing the actual landing area somewhat difficult as you're rolling into the groove. Even the sun being in the wrong position can wash out the paint on the deck marking the landing area. I think simply leaving the lights on at all times would remedy the situation. 1
Bankler Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 +1 I would like to see a ME option for "lights always on". In addition to the use-case above, it would be very useful for multiplayer scenarios. In my community, we use human marshal, LSO and such. So we have no need for the AI comms. Still, during CASE 3, our pilots (or at least the one landing last) have to contact the AI tower with the comms menu and request "approach". Apart from breaking immersion, which is a problem in itself, this is many times forgotten, and the first aircraft comes down to a pitch black deck. So at least make it an option, so that we can skip this unnecessary step. I know that controlling the lights manually is in the roadmap. But considering the development pace for the Supercarrier, I think you need to take a couple of easy fix "shortcuts" like these to put out the worst fires, for now. Bankler's CASE 1 Recovery Trainer
maxTRX Posted June 30, 2021 Posted June 30, 2021 +1 This is one of these reoccurring requests from way back... I flew many case I approaches in bright daylight but for some reason the landing area was invisible, so were the drop lights and the wake. I could barely break out the landing area as I was entering the groove.
