VR Pilot - Using Mouse Cursor to trigger the Ejection Seat

As a VR pilot, I cannot use the Mouse Cursor to trigger the Ejection Seat.

 

I would like it to work as easily as in the F/A-18.   It doesn't work in the A-10C II either.
