TheMoose Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 (edited) Are you tired as I, re installing your OS? Re installing all the updates, all the extras trimmings, like winwar, Outlook, etc? you get the picture... A clean install from Xp takes me around 2 hours with all the trimmings, for vista well, since my dvd does not include service pack 1, then it takes around 4 hours to get all this crap running as I want. A buddy at work told me about Acronis, ( www.acronis.com ) a backup image utility, man what a dream this tool is. I tried different other image utility software, but this one for me was the cream. User friendly, you can easily set your image size to sequential, DVD, regular CD, backup a whole partition if required. Once I got my OS running up to par with my hardware, I imaged it, does not take that long actually, but once it’s done, switching images or restoring it is so freaking easy, takes 5 minutes tops on my system. Anyhow I give it 2 thumbs up. If had more thumbs well… lol :clap_2: As they say: time is money, I no longer can live without imaging software. You guys use any imaging software? muz Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Heaps in my day job - I'm a senior IT support geek. There's so many to choose from, I wouldn't really know where to start, but off the top of my head, the 2 best ones I would single out would be: Symantec Ghost and Drive Image Pro from PowerQuest. Those 2 would be my favorites.
