sabellamy Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 I have been trying to get the autopilot coupling to work on the F/A-18 aircraft. I have watched Waggs video's and I have done everything he has done. I have run my mission while watching is video in fact. When I hit auto at the bottom of the HSI and hit the couple button but I do not get the : next to it, and I do not get the dotted line he gets in his video. I have not been able to find a topic on this so I decided to start my own. If there is one can someone please let me know so I can go see what is up? Thanks for any help anyone can give me.
Oozler Posted May 22, 2021 Posted May 22, 2021 (edited) Hit WYPT on the top right of the HSI MFD. This designates the waypoints to show up on your HUD and is key to coupling the two together. Then when you have autopilot activated and then CPL it should couple the A/P to the waypoints. Auto allows for the waypoints to switch to the next by itself. SEQ (bottom right HSI button) draws the lines between the way points on the HSI/SA MFDs. I use it all the time and works fine. Likewise, if you hit TCN on the upper left of the HSI MFD it will couple to the TCN bearing setup. Edited May 22, 2021 by Oozler
sabellamy Posted May 22, 2021 Author Posted May 22, 2021 (edited) Okay I hit WYPT on the HSI, then I set my autopilot and then I CPLed it and I hit SEQ button. No lines, it coupled to the WYPT but would not go to the next WYPT. I also just noticed that I do not have any numbers under my TOT except 0. Aren't they suppose to populate when you put in your WYPT's? Edited May 22, 2021 by sabellamy
sabellamy Posted May 22, 2021 Author Posted May 22, 2021 That was my problem. I didn't have my WYPT inserted. Now that I know how to do that I am good. Thanks for the help.
