Setting Campaign Difficulty

When I first started playing I was playing the sim on more or less easy settings to get the feel of things and it didnt take long to switch to full real but I'm having difficulting resetting the difficulty on campaigns. In a nut shell the sim wont let me change the difficulty settings for anything in campaigns except for G-settings. I can change the difficulty for single missions and everything else but campaigns, does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do right or what I may be doing wrong?

 

I have tried this:

 

Resetting the campaign missions so its starts on mission 1.

 

Changing the difficulty in the main screen and attempted to set it as the defualt difficulty (it still only changes single player mission difficulty).

 

I may have tried a few other things but no luck yet. Is there any secret tricks to setting the difficulty on campaigns? I just want to play my campaigns at a higher difficulty level than with labels and map object views. I'm trying to teach myself to follow attack waypoints and to get better at visually identifying targets. Thanks in advance for any help!

Are you having this problem when you open the campaign in the Mission Editor?

Are you declassifying the campaign?

I havent tried that yet maybe thats worth a shot. I'll try opening them in the editor, de-classifying them, then changing the difficulty settings and save.

 

But to answer your question no, I was just trying to play the campaigns at a higher difficulty level, the only campaigns I've used are the A10 (in game) camp.'s and "When Hogs Fly" a user created camp.

I tried opening the campaign files in the mission editor but to de-classify them you need the passwords. In any case de-classified or not, it still did not let me alter the difficulty settings.

in the campaign creator tutorial they warn you about the scene level you set that canno't be changed afterwards maybe it applies to the other settings too . why don't you download one of the campaigns in my sig i've done them without any password or locking just to see if you can modify them if you can't then i'll have to release a ace settings version

i just downloaded a campaign on Lockonfiles the first i found i could easily modify the parameters you're refering to , your campaign's probably classified or maybe your game version and the campaign version aren't the same

 

Edit : i've just read the readme of the campaign i tried the campaign was classified

i've made other tests and came to the conclusion your campaign's classified . There a tool called ExtractMisCampLO which allows to convert campaigns to missions series (and another to build the campaign again )

I've tried most everything with the exception of d/ling your campaign JPM1. I just dont think thats the problem I remember changing the difficulty originally and I can't imagine the stock campaigns are all on easy settings as well as the "When Hogs Fly" campaign I d/led from lockonfiles. But I'll keep trying, thanks for all the suggestions and I'm always open for more!

EDIT: Havent tried the extractor tool either I'll check them out but I dont know the first thing about building a campaign, though I can make missions so I should be able to figure it out!

I just found some helpful hints here that may do the trick. I'll check them out and let you guys know, although I still believe I was able to change the campaign difficulty from hard to easy in the first place. If anyone else is having these problems you may want to give this a try!

That did the trick, if anyone has this problem just de-classify the campaign in question (provided you have the password to unlock it), the stock campaigns use "eagle" as the password. After that change you difficulty and save, you'll be good to go!
