Edit: Silly me, this is about the domnload version of Lock On - Flaming Cliffs. :)

Ive exhausted all my activations trough upgrades and reformats, and need a refill. I tried sending an email (two, actually) to activation@lockon.ru, without success. They bounce as undeliverable.

This is the email content:

Ive run out of activations after a few upgrades and reformats, and would

like another round.

Thank you for a great sim, though this starforce buisiness is bit of a

minus... Anyhow, Im very much looking forward to Black Shark. :D

Thank you. :)

And this is the bounce:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at mx-18.masterhost.ru.

I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.

This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

:

Sorry, I wasn't able to establish an SMTP connection. (#4.4.1)

I'm not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long.

Oh, while we are at it, what are the criteria for the hardware switch error, as that is what Im having even though I didnt change a single piece of (internal) hardware since the last install, apart from going to SATA native IDE emulation to AHCI and back, switching slots for my soundcard and Voodoo2, and changing from Windows FLP to Windows XP SP3...

The registry backups doesnt help, but then they never have. Every reinstall/partition table rewrite or a like has left me with using up one more activation. It also triggered when I replaced my harddrive a while back, even though the Windows install was a direct image.

Is this a bug of some form, or is it supposed to be that sensitive?

As I am the fiddly type and Windows is my secondary operating system, and therefore tend to get shifted around quite a bit and quite often when I have a need to rearrange things for my primary tools, this activation model was perhaps a mistake for me to go with... Making note to use the CD version of DCS unless theres an easy fix for this.:D

Shame though, as i realy dislike shuffling CDs around. :baby:
