Hi,

 

I just updated to the 2.7 stable, clouds look great now in VR. However, I just noticed today that when I fire HARMs in HAS mode, they loft like crazy and head off in some seemingly random direction, even though they were locked to a target that is clearly active in RWR.  I shot 8 HARMS at different targets with the same result.

 

Has anyone experienced this? It was working before the update.  Also, this was online. POS mode seemed to work fine.

Yes, me too, happened on 4th of June on Buddyspike Syria Modern.

I have ACMI File where it is clearly visible that HARMS are going somewhere, but not on target.

4 weapons just fly right over the target, and are going into ground far behind the target.

 

I was using HAS mode, locked the SAM, wait for the rectangle to flash, fire (as always).

I never had problems with that in former versions of OB.

 

I am still investigating, since I can't say for sure if the SAM units kept their radars on during my engagement.

Are you sure about seeing the SAM's radar active until impact?

 

Edit: Just did a test sortie against SA-11, had no problems. HARM flies to target at higher altitude, then dives steep, boom.

Seems all OK so far...

I realize this may not be helpful to you because I'm on 2.7.3.8494 open beta, not stable, but I just tested HAS in single player against an SA-11 site and it worked fine. Details:

 

  • Used the template in the mission editor for the SA-11 site with its accompanying command, support, and search radar vehicles.
  • Started at 30,000 ft with 2 wing tanks, 2 HARM (so the HARMS are on pylons 3 and 7), and some AMRAAMs
  • AG-mode, HAS mode, TBL 1, removed everything except 11 from search table, set search to Center.
  • Flew directly toward the site as indicated by RWR, full afterburner, speed 350 on the HUD
  • Locked the 11A symbol when it appeared and launched from 10nm or less range (not sure what the slant range was -- I made this measurement from the F-10 map). Did this twice in quick succession
  • HARMs flew straight toward the target
  • Observed HARMs in F6 view hit near the TEL. They both missed by about 20 feet more or less, but between the two of them it took the TEL down.

Same here, but in MP.  POS missed completely, overshot. For each, SA-11 was up and radiating.

The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire.

I am getting this problem, they were working on  2.7.3.8494 stable version but since I updated I cant get them to target anything.  Is there a fix or do I need to reinstall game?
