FA18 SA Page finding targets

Hi guys, 

 

I am really struggling to find targets when in a dog fight. Is there any tips or tutorial videos that you can share to help me please ? Is there a way to lock targets from the SA page ? I can find the targets on the SA page, but struggle to get radar lock or a lock through the HUD.

On a dogfight get visual and use an ACM radar mode (i love vertical one for dogfight).

 

SA page on Hornet for something like a dogfight it´s a no go due tu his low refresh rate of DL (if i remember it was something like 12-16 seconds)

For finding targets that are a bit farther away than close combat where you want the ACM mode

go SCS down to the SA page, hover your TDC over a target, note the altitude and bearing, quickly SCS right back to your attack radar and set your elevation scan and bearing accordingly. You will usually pick them up. It’s not possible to lock targets from the SA page but using the HOTAS you can quickly switch displays like this.
