On Table: Warthog Hotas + TM Pedals or Virpil Constellation Alpha + WarBRD Base + Virpil Throttle?

As in title. I'm afraid the Virpil Alpha on WarBRD base might be too high when placed on a table top as I won't be doing chair or below table mounting. The Virpil setup would cost more but not much more and would save me having to get pedals since the Alpha is a twist stick. The VKB NXT would have been perfect for me if only it had a matching throttle which I read might never appear, or at least no one knows when it would come out. The Warthog with pedals is of course tried and tested in DCS and would be great too. But does anyone know if TM is coming out with a new HOTAS soon? What would you recommend? I fly mostly modern - F18 and F16 and possibly the upcoming Apache.

Thanks in advance

Which one did u go with?
I have the gladiator nxt and just got the virpil cm2 throttle. The fact that they’re not the same doesn’t effect me because I use joystick gremlin to give me my mode selection and with joystick gremlin, your modes span all your devices so when I change modes, I can change modes for both the stick and the throttle.
it also lets me do short press and long press for different functions so I mapped the f1-f12 to the 6 lighted buttons on the throttle.  Best thing EVER!  I can control all the functions from atc to tanker to formations to attack commands for my flight, even the f10 map amd return to cockpit, all in 6 buttons without taking my hands away from the hotas.
the amount of buttons on the virpil throttle just makes it perfect for everything for me.

Congrats on your new Hotas combo. I’ve read it’s a good pairing. I got the TM Warthog eventually. The stick was quite stiff initially (ex T.Flight HotasX user) but I have gotten used to it without modding the springs. I made the ‘notorious’ Warthog throttle mouse button the perfect Shift button, IMO, as opposed to the stick pinky. After a couple of mapping iterations and practice, I am quite happy now with my Hotas setup. Here’s my layout just for mapping comparison :) - https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3317760/

looks good!  im still working on mine.  im new so a lot of the controls i'll end up needing to map, i havent even learned yet.  i havent ran out of buttons or axes in the main mother mode and havent even started mapping the aa, ag, nav or startup/takeoff/landing modes.  its a lot but im having a good time with it

Yes, can be fun making the 'perfect' personal map. For me I checked out other layouts to get an idea of what other ppl had in mind that worked (for them). Then personalised it. I tried not to make it too complex but also realised I would get use to the layout after several missions and could see what worked and what needed changing. All the best to your hotas mapping 🙂

That’s exactly what I’m doing. Trying to look at as many as I can find. I wish some of the ppl who had different modes for at/aa/nav/landing had their maps posted.  It would be cool as shit to see how ppl mapped the different modes.
