Miles Vorkosigan Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 (edited) 02 JAN 1952 | 1000 LOCAL REQUIRED WWII Assets Pack SITUATION We've managed to push the North Koreans to within a few miles of their base at Mineralnye Vody. The OCA mission against the airbase earlier was a total success. We just need to keep the pressure on them for a little while longer in order to capture the base. MISSION The Forgotten will conduct DEAD, BAI, and CAS operations in the vicinity of the frontline near Mineralnye Vody airbase in support of advancing ground forces. Ground forces will be attempting a breakthrough to capture the base. ENEMY DISPOSITION The enemy has heavily reinforced Minvody with three large AAA batteries. These are marked as objectives FENNEC, ALLIGATOR, and KOALA. These are primarily heavy AAA batteries, with few light guns. A small contingent of heavy armor provides base security. Earlier strikes have significantly weakened base defenses, and the base’s runway is out of action. Intel suggests that we should have local air superiority, as most, if not all, North Korean aircraft will be stuck on the ground. Enemy sorties based out of Maykop, 130nm away, are possible but unlikely. EXECUTION F-86: Forgotten F-86 flights (callsign GOLD) will depart Mozdok at T+20, climbing to 15,000 feet for cruise direct to Mineralnye Vody (288/70nm). Once at the target area, focus your initial attacks on remaining enemy air defenses. A flight of A-20s will arrive over the base for BAI operations at T+59. Once air defenses are down, you are to expend remaining ordnance on grounded enemy aircraft and base defense forces. F-51: Forgotten F-51 flight (callsign RED) will depart Mozdok at T+15, climbing to 10,000 feet for cruise direct to the frontline (282/64nm). Once at the frontline, conduct CAS operations in direct support of friendly ground forces. Multiple sorties are authorized as long as enemy forces remain in your assigned area of responsibility. RULES OF ENGAGEMENT Positively ID your targets prior to engaging. Friendly forces will be moving aggressively, and may intermingle with enemy units, both on and off the base. Look for small red/blue labels as you get close (or the tracers…) ADMIN Mozdok – Primary – 266/137 Mhz (Sabres Ch14, Mustangs Button B) – ADF 525.000 (DQ) Come join us for a friendly co-op mission.
