MysticDaedra Posted August 8, 2021 Posted August 8, 2021 (edited) We are a relaxed-realism group consisting of DCS players from across different walks of life and places in the world, creating realistic US operations from multiple branches to deliver a varied and exciting experience for our members. Our parent Arma 3 unit was founded in September 2016, and our DCS squadron was founded in May 2020. We are an established and tight-knit gaming community. Types of people we are looking for: We are currently looking for mission makers! Age 17+ At least conversational English proficiency Valid copy of DCS Open Beta SimpleRadio Standalone Working speakers/headset and microphone A positive attitude, high personal integrity, and maturity When it comes to what to fly, we accept flyers of any plane, but currently only use the following modules in our missions: F-14 F-16 F-18 However, we do plan on adding more modules and planes as we expand our number of experienced pilots, with plans to include A-10C, UH-1H, and the Apache, as well as any others we can consistently get enough people to fly regularly in missions! We don't require any member to own any module, but due to them being frequently used in our missions, we do highly recommend having the following modules: Supercarrier Persian Gulf Syria Our missions also use two freely available community mods as well, and will offer help getting them set up if you do not have them. A-4E Community Mod High Digit SAMs About Us US/North American-based community focused on DCS US Armed Forces CAS, CAP, and SEAD/DEAD operations. Unit Wide Monday Operations every Monday at 19:00CDT. Members from the age of 17 to their 50s. We have members from Indonesia to Brazil to the UK. They come from all walks of life from plumbers to students to corporate managers to military officers. We are more than a DCS squadron, we are a tightly knit community and we often play other games together. We want to get new members in the game quickly, and our basic training is designed to do just that: teach only what we do. We offer training on all supported airframes and roles, with the expectation that members gradually improve over time. We know DCS is a game and we just want to know that you’re up to speed. That is also why our attendance policy is a bit unorthodox, we only require you to tell us if you plan on attending or not. Though activity has its own rewards, we do not punish or adversely affect you if you can’t make it to a game session. In-game we expect seriousness and professionalism to provide an immersive and fun gaming experience. You will have a task and you will have leaders giving orders, and there will be a bit of structure. This is not to say you can’t crack a joke or anything, but there’s a point to where it can become distracting. Out of game we are just a bunch of friends goofing around like a gaming community should. We don't expect “yes sir, no sir” in or out of game. What We Bring To The Table We have multiple sections working both independently and cooperatively to bring a new level of coordinated missions. With experienced real-life Air Force controllers and pilots, we are able to simulate a high degree of realism in our operations. We want to present an active and high-energy environment that is professional when we need to be, laid back the rest of the time, and fun all the time. Our leadership is adept at what they do, whether it is designing missions and operations, or getting everyone hyped to get some game time in. We have a dedicated server for SRS, training, and operations! Why We’re Different From the Rest While no unit is totally unique, JATF-121 attempts to break out by being relaxed and professional in the realism department. Immersion is important but we eschew all the “dead weight.” We don’t have a mod for every little thing. We don’t insist that you drop real life into oblivion for a game. We don’t put new members through overly-developed and lengthy training schedules. We believe that everyone has a certain taste and style to their DCS preference. We focus on common sense but accurate policies, short training, high energy operations, active player base, and approachable but fleshed out realism and immersion. How to join 1.
