I'm having difficulties grasping how to manage TOT for any Liberation campaign.  I've read the directions here.

I'm having problems getting flights to take off on time so that the BARCAP is in place when ground pounders are in the air, AWACS and refuel flights are in the air and in formation when combat flights start running out of gas ("two, bingo fuel --> two, eject!"). I'm also not real thrilled about having to spend my flight time circling around a waypoint for up to 20 minutes, or sitting in an inactive cockpit for XX time.

I am losing about 4-6 planes PER HOP because of this.  I'm setting the ASAP flag on all flights, but they still aren't taking off on time -- or worse, they get in a major airport/carrier traffic jam.  OR just simply ram you.

Could someone please provide assistance?

I would send CAP/TARCAP out 10 minutes early and also include an escort flight with your CAS/Strike packages.  Just remember that the AI in this game do stupid things like flying over SA10 sites if the SAM sites are in the CAP zones. I've conceded that I'm going to lose lots of planes in the Lib campaign due to AI limitations, but still have fun.  Also consider how many flights get tasked within a given period and if you are sending them all out from a single airfield (or ship).  Some airfields take a long time for all flights to get off the ground and can mess with timings causing late TOT and also fuel burn (afterburner use) to catch up by the AI.
