cmeliak Posted January 22, 2005 Posted January 22, 2005 Hello, may be stupid question for you but I'm interested in. I've analysed which part of a model takes the larges amount of a rendering resources and have seen that MIRRORS takes from 30 to 50 % ? Wazap? I switched of my mirrors but there were stil such a huge number. wazap? :?: :?: :?: May be stupid another one. What is the most relevant computer configuration for a lomac? I mean something that can man pay. Well, last stupid one. Will be there lomac support for a vector expansion ??? thx and have a nice flight. Steel Hotas Warthog + Hoffmans F16 rudders, Oculus Rift S, EVGA RTX3090, Core i7 4790K Hangar: Ka50, A10C, A10A, A10CII, SU27, SU33, SU25, Av8BNA, Bf109K4, F16C, F86, FA18C, FW190D9, i-16, L39C, Mi8, MiG15, MiG19P, MiG21, P51D, Spitfire, SuperCarrier, Yak52, P47, F14, Mi24P, Me262? Big FPS hogs in Lomac are mirrors in the cockpit, advanced Haze, and water. Play with those settings until you achieve the desired effect. A decent PC for Lomac is a Pentium 4 2.8 GHz and above, 1024Mb RAM, and a Radeon 9800 Pro or better. Very affordable these days. To run smoothly in all conditions . . . . well, you need a PC that hasn't been built yet. The brand new rigs will run Lomac maxed out smoothly most of the time, but will still stutter occasionally. According to the devs, Lomac v1.1 will support the "zoom" feature of TrackIR Vector Expansion, but it looks like much more work will be required to make Lomac compatible with the other degrees of freedom. Don't expect to see it in Lomac at any point. However, I have my fingers crossed for ED's "next project" http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
HHF Posted January 23, 2005 Posted January 23, 2005 FC supports Vector expansion Zoom?? That's damned good news!!!! I am really looking forward for get FC. Are there any future planed projects? Rgds HHF

Are there any future planed projects? Rgds HHF v1.2 is going to bring in the Ka50 as a flyable - helicopter FM and the Vikhrs from the Su25T. It'll rule. ED have an idea about what they're doing after that - but it won't come as part of the Lock On series. Whether it's a new engine entirely, or builds on what they've done with the Lomac engine, nobody knows yet - we'll just have to wait and see. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
cmeliak Posted January 24, 2005 Author Posted January 24, 2005 :) OK, thats is a good news I would say. Vector expansion is great to have. I've got GF6600GT. OK, is not the best one you can have but runs acceptable. I started on 8 bit architectures with simulators, so LockOn is really GREAT one from this point of view. And many guys said, there is a very good approximation with real flight model. Do you believe this? I don't know, never tried to test logitudal stability of a Su27 or something like this. KA50 flyable? :) nice. I find helicopters very hard to fly. Steel Hotas Warthog + Hoffmans F16 rudders, Oculus Rift S, EVGA RTX3090, Core i7 4790K Hangar: Ka50, A10C, A10A, A10CII, SU27, SU33, SU25, Av8BNA, Bf109K4, F16C, F86, FA18C, FW190D9, i-16, L39C, Mi8, MiG15, MiG19P, MiG21, P51D, Spitfire, SuperCarrier, Yak52, P47, F14, Mi24P, Me262? cmeliak Posted January 25, 2005 Author Posted January 25, 2005 Hi all I've been tested my PC yesterday, well one point is a graphic card, BUT the main "story" runs in a processor i guess. Well, I would be interested in how much cache memory is still relevant for a LockOn and are there some special cache types supported? Or in other words, works Lockon better on Pentium or AMD with the same cache amount and comparable frequency? hm. Does anybody tested this?
