Late activation client group cannot be activated by trigger

In this mission I tried to create a client group of airstart F18's that can only be selected after certain conditions are met. The "Airstart F18's" group is a client group with late activation checked. The radio item add allows the option to trigger "activate group - airstart F18's" via F10 options in game (this is the "intermission" trigger). 

 

When the mission starts you cannot select "Airstart F18's" group, it says your flight is delayed to start please wait which is what I want, I don't want people to be able to select those right away. But after triggering "activate group - airstart F18's" you still get the flight is delayed to start please wait message when trying to chose a slot in this group.
