Could the Eurofighter receive the ability for wingmen to guide your missiles?

In 2009 there was a testing firing of an AIM-120 with the host aircraft having it's radar in standby while a wingman guided the missile using the MIDS system. I wonder if DCS can currently support this feature and if we could see it implemented in the future.

The article didn't state that the missile was guided by the 2nd aircraft. The 2nd aircraft simply tracked the target with its radar and shared the track with the first one. The 1st one used the track data supplied to target the track and launch an AMRAAM against it.

With METEOR's two-way datalink it should be possible. Not with the ingame 120C5 though.

There is a difference between theory and reality. In theory even an AMRAAM with a uni-directional link could be guided by another aircraft if specific pre-requisites are met. That doesn't mean it's a capability actually exploited or even technically implemented, albeit it's theoretically possible.

The missile datalink channels are deliberately offset from wingmen in order to prevent guiding the wrong missile.   This test is a capability demonstration, but it is useless in terms of determining capability.   This stuff is not trivial, it doesn't just have to work when you have 2 fighters out there, it has to work when you have 100.

 

The launching aircraft's radar is the source of the missile's datalink transmission, and depending on how/what data is transmitted to the missile and how the coordinates are synched between missile and aircraft, guiding the missile with the mlink from another aircraft would lower the Pk (or even drive it to zero) unless special precautions are taken.  With MIDS you can ensure relatively solid coordinates, but then you have to deal with the rest of the weapon system.

Exactly, heck even the ancient R-27 in the Flanker is tuned to an individual frequency from the cockpit.
