104th_Crunch Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 I searched the forums and found some info, but nothing definite so... From the manual: "The fuel quantity indicator is intended for indicating fuel quantity in the aircraft’s fuel tanks. The fuel level needle shows the fuel quantity in the internal fuel tanks. The three digital indicators in the lower part of the instrument show the total amount of fuel (both in internal and in external fuel tanks) and the amount of remaining fuel in the left and right external fuel tanks respectively. Fuel amount is measured in pounds." I believe the statement, "the amount of remaining fuel in the left and right external fuel tank" is incorrect and it should be, "the amount of remaining fuel in the left and right internal wing fuel tanks." Can anyone else confirm this and that I am not crazy? I may be crazy regardless if am right or wrong ;) Also, you can jettison the external fuel tanks on the wings first then the external centerline fuel tank, however, it appears that fuel is used from all 3 tanks together as opposed to using up the fuel in the external wing tanks first, then the external centerline fuel tank. So, what is the point of being able to jettison the external wing tanks first then the external centerline fuel tank?! Perhaps ED did not complete what they meant to do? Thanks!
RedTiger Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 If the real F-15 is anything like the F-16, you can jettison any of the stores you like individually by using the stores management system.
104th_Crunch Posted November 11, 2008 Author Posted November 11, 2008 Thanks RT. I know in real life you can do this, but all I care about is how the Lock On F-15 gauge works.
RedTiger Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Thanks RT. I know in real life you can do this, but all I care about is how the Lock On F-15 gauge works. Oops...my mistake.
