valleyboy Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 Hi, can we have the cockpit in its correct colour please? currently it appears to be painted in US cockpit green (dark green), whereas RAF cockpit green is much lighter. The cockpit should be the same colour as the ED Spitfire cockpit: https://www.airspacemag.com/photocontest/detail/civilian/de-havilland-mosquito-cockpit/
Basco1 Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 (edited) Agreed....the colour is not a true representation of the colour used in WW2 RAF cockpits,to show an example, below is a real Mosquito cockpit heating duct that has not been changed since it was originally installed at the factory.Below that is a screenshot of the current cockpit colour....you can appreciate....there is quite a difference. I always go on old parts to confirm the correct colour, some of these restoration aircraft again,do not represent the correct colour/tone of the original colour used back in the day it left the factory. This colour green was used in most RAF WW2 aircraft too.....it was standard issue cockpit/interior green if you like.
